Our work

Six blocks.
One summer holiday.

CIG carried out the fire safety works at The Castle School in Taunton for the school’s trust, working through the fire risk assessment schedule across six blocks, Main Building to Jubilee, over the 2025 summer holiday.

The schedule ran to around 290 items: over-boarding and reglazing corridor screens to restore the compartment lines, intumescent and smoke seals, closers and hardware to more than 130 fire doors, new doorsets to stores and inner rooms, and new fire escape steps at the Jubilee Building. Every item was photographed and recorded for the O&M manual, and the school reopened on time in September.
